Every single one of us has a unique set of strengths, values and interests; which means we thrive in certain environments, and we struggle in others.

Ultimately, my life experiences are what inspired me to setup The Career Agent.

​

In secondary school I struggled to find my place. I went to a school with very high standards and found myself in the bottom sets for most subjects. 

​

As a result, my confidence dropped and I started to lower the expectations of myself for my life.

​

Then I went to University, and thrived whilst studying my Business and Marketing degree at Oxford Brookes.

​

In 2012, I found myself in a recruitment role, in IT for the Banking industry, talking to candidates every day about what jobs they were looking for, their skillsets, their passions and more.

​

I was fascinated by what motivated different people. I was also able to build trust very quickly with people, and I worked extremely hard to help these candidates to further their careers.

​

I had found my career calling, helping others to do better in their professional lives. 

​

But if I have found my career calling, then why shouldn't everyone? 

​

The emotional effect of finding a job/career that unleashes your strengths, and appeals to your values will dramatically improve your life.

This also has a positive knock on effect on those around you.

There is a lack of support for people navigating their professional lives. There is also a complete lack of encouragement, people's strengths are rarely celebrated by their managers - as excellent leadership is rare.

​​​​

I am extremely motivated by helping others to recognise their strengths, boost their confidence and ultimately build the  professional life they really want.
